Hi! Welcome to the Wounded Well blog. This is run by Melanie in conjunction with our Youtube channel primarily run by Sam.
Who are we? Well, we are a couple who work together learning how to live life with our own difficulties and we teach each other new skills every day and cheer each other on when it becomes difficult.
Sam has lived and grown up in Washington state, New York and California as well as other states and has even visited Japan! He’s well traveled and loves playing tour guide. Sam was born premature and with a nasty infection, as a result he has been diagnosed as falling on the autism scale, he has dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADD and a host of other difficulties. He’s learned to maximize his potential and does amazingly well with customer service, he picks up languages and music like no ones business, he loves animals and they trust him implicitly and when something interests him he will read everything about it and want to teach everyone else about that subject as well.
I was born and raised in Washington state, I have lived in Florida for a few years, traveled to other US states but I’m no where as well traveled as Sam. My mode of traveling tends to be random road trips and getting lost along the way adventures.
Iwas diagnosed several years ago with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), we’ll go into that more at a later date, anxiety and PTSD. I was also born with a birth defect called Microtia, basically in my case it means that I was born with out a right ear and has led to some other health problems but its never been a major obstacle . I’ve learned coping mechanisms and in a lot of ways Sam has helped me grow immensely.
The idea for the Wounded Well came one day in 2017 while spending time with friends and family and talking about how Sam and I met, how we work with each other and even times when we struggle.
It was passed around and agreed that we should make a YouTube channel and spread our story, I decided to start a blog that corresponds just because I don’t do well in front of a camera and I love writing.
